Hi guys and welcome to my page, I pray that your week has been productive and creative, I pray and commit each individual into the hands of The Lord, may he protect you and guide you and in times of need may you seek him and trust in him, Amen
Today's topic is " The role of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer" this is a topic which we learnt at Youth camp this year, which was amazeballs like I learnt a lot which has helped me and shaped me to be the person that I am right now. The topics we discussed were broad so we had little themes which helped us to understand the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives, during my time at camp every morning we would have morning devotions, we start our day with some prayers/worships and scriptures to get us prepared for what we were going to do, and these are some of the scriptures which we came across morning devotions:
Exodus 33 which was the story of Moses (go and read that for more in-depth information), the group which gave us this devotion explained that " You cannot have a purpose if you don't have an expectation", for example, Moses wanted to be filled with the Holy Spirit and he wanted to find favour in God, linking back to my first post about purpose, everybody has a purpose and that purpose can only be achieved when you expect something from it that's how it works.
This morning devotion gave us an open mind and allowed us to think about our own purposes in life and what we expected from those purposes.
The first theme which we came across was " Who is the Holy Spirit ?" as we brainstormed we summarised the Holy Spirit as God, God the Father, the son and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is there to guide us and protect us, in John 14:26 it says "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." The Holy Spirit will teach us the way of God, what is acceptable and what is not acceptable, he will live in us and he will know us and know our mind and our hearts, he was sent down to protect us, guide us, and keep us on the path of success which could be your own success or to get to HEAVEN.
The Holy Spirit is eternal, he is forever because he is God he is omnipotent and he lives in the life of a believer, you will only receive the Holy Spirit when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and through that stage, you can experience his grace and the love he has for us. In Ephesians 1:13 it states " In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise", If you are not led by the Holy Spirit you are not a believer but once you accept him, you are sealed with the Holy Spirit.
"FAITH" is the first step of salvation, once you are saved you begin to experience a change in your life and others begin to notice that. The witness of the Holy spirit is the next step this assures you of the Holy Spirit and knowing that you are filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit can be seen as a counsellor and the seal of our salvation, we have to make sure that after we are saved we should be more empowered and motivated by the Holy Spirit and use that gift to save more souls and it also helps us to gain a better understanding of the Word and having an open mind to listen to his word and use it in our daily lives and inspire and influence others.
I pray and commit any lost souls into God's hands, may they be filled with the Holy Spirit and may they accept Jesus as their Lord and personal saviour so that they may experience the grace that we have, and may they experience the love that we receive from the Holy Spirit. Never forget to seek God in times of need and continue to give him thanks in all that you do. Amen
I Hope that this post inspires and motivates someone out there, and make sure that you share it with your friends, your family, your colleagues and your peers and may someone be influenced and inspired, Until next time.
Love Jessica xx
